Bill and Margery Bouris are longtime residents of Whitesburg, Georgia. In this interview, they discuss their early lives - Bill in New York City, Margery in Macon - and how they met while working at Emory University's Yerkes Primate Lab in Atlanta. They then talk about deciding to move to Whitesburg and obtaining employment in Carroll County. Most of the interview then features them discussing their involvement in the Carroll County community, especially with the League of Women Voters of Carrollton-Carroll County, the Friends of McIntosh Nature Preserve, and especially the Whitesburg Public Library. They discuss the challenges of obtaining land and funding for the library, and what it has meant to the local Whitesburg community. They end the interview by sharing their thoughts on Michelle Morgan, chair of the Carroll County Commission, who has made funding libraries a key priority in her political career.
