Too often we hear about a government entity that has been the victim of a ransomware attack. So - what can you do as a public finance professional to ensure that your government's financial systems/infrastructure is protected? This session will explore cybersecurity from a risk perspective and provide an overview of best practices and strategies that can be used to mitigate those risks. At the end of the session, the participant should be able to: identify the types of risks facing local government entities related to cybersecurity and cloud computing, recall the basic control frameworks that can be used to mitigate cybersecurity risks, and recognize best practices and or strategies that can be used to implement and improve IT controls related to cybersecurity.
