Research and Education Centers Long term commitment to Grass Root Social
Justice in the South:
This event provided highlights from the Highlander Research and Education Centers 90th
Homecoming (See https://highlandercenter.org/). The 90th homecoming focused on getting
attendees ready for the next 10 years of engaging in grassroots social justice and social change in the Deep South,
with a focus on abolition. The conference was attended by some 500+ organizers
from around the country. During this munch and learn we will talk about some of
the issues that were covered at the conference as well as have a brief
discussion regarding Highlander Center call for us all to be abolitionists in
the future.
